SdSV™ Water-Soluble Adhesive-Backed Stabilizer is an environmentally safe, wash-away adhesive backed stabilizer that dissolves at 60* to 70*F room temperature water in 1 minute, leaving no residue on fabrics. It is especially useful when embroidering on sheer see-through fabrics or on baby clothing.

Spraying water lightly makes tearing away easier. If the design has a close satin stitch on the edge, it can be easily torn away without wetting.

If you leave the SIA adhesive-backed tearaway on the back of the hoop from the last embroidery project, then cut a window in the tearaway and apply the SdSV over the window, with a 1 inch overlap around the edges. This will save $ and allow you to buy a narrower roll than the width of the frame. The adhesive backed stabilizer holds the stitching without distortion and dissolves in cold (60-70* F) water in about 1 minute. Do not use hot water to remove it, as the heat can cause the film to get hard and not dissolve properly.

If this is used on towels and baby wear, there is a softer final embroidery than when using ordinary stabilizers.

To remove SdSV, DSV, or most other water-soluble films from towels, baby wear, sheers, etc., after embroidery is usually done first by tearing the excess film around the embroidery. If there is some SdSV film remaining around the edge, moisten the edge of the film at the embroidery using a narrow sponge or Q-tip,while lifting the remaining film off. Most people leave the remaining film under the embroidery to provide stability until the towel is washed the first time. If you don't want any film to remain before laundering, and you don't want to wash it, then you must saturate the embroidery  with 60 to 70* F water, and use a dry sponge to remove the film solution. Repeat the process until the film residue is gone. Don't use an iron on the embroidery unless you want to flatten it. If you use hot or very cold water you will slow down the dissolving. If the water is over 100* F the SdSV may harden and never dissolve. SdSV has a normal shelf life of 1 year, if kept in a cool dry area.

SdSV™ (Formerly known as Stick-dSOLV) is the answer to your dreams!

SdSV™  is normally used by sticking it on the back of the hoop instead of white SIA Stabilizer.

This exclusive product of Hoop-It-All, Inc., was produced for use with the Hoop-It-All™ hoops when embroidering on sheer see-through fabrics. The water-soluble stabilizer and the adhesive both completely dissolve in about 1 minute in 70°F water .

sdsv laceEMBROIDERY FEATURES:

Great for:

  • Multi-dimensional appliqué with layered netting, lace and other sheer fabrics.
  • Cutwork
  • Delicate heirloom projects

SEWING FEATURES:

  • Satin stitching on the edge of fine fabrics like, scarves.
  • Keeps fabric from stretching when sewing-blind hems.
  • Use in place of a Stay-Stitch for hemming, sewing zippers and Topstitching.
  • Place on top of sweaters, terry cloth or any high loft fabric for more control and perfect stitches. Especially helpful when sewing buttonholes on these fabric types.
  • Use as a stabilizer when sewing-sequins, beads or any trim where you use a long zigzag stitch. Because a longer stitch length on a zigzag stitch will not perforate standard tear-away stabilizers, causing stitches to break when removing the stabilizer. SdSV washes away so you never have to worry about ripping your stitches.
