Stick and Tear (formally SIA)
Is a Pressure sensitive adhesive backed tear-away stabilizer that sticks to the back of the Embroidery hoops, allowing you to attach your fabric to it rather than hooping your fabric within 2 hoop frames. Stick and Tear⢠is required to hold the fabric in place on our hoops preventing distortion and shifting of the fabric. It is available in over several widths, to closely fit your hoop. In some cases no other stabilizer is required such as on caps, purses, and heavy weight fabrics. Stick and Tear is MADE in USA.
12" wide rolls are perfect fit for the original square hoop.
The 14.5 inch wide rolls are a perfect fit for our Double Wide hoops that measure 14" - 14.5" wide.
The 16 inch series comes in 16 inch wide rolls.
The 3.25 inch series are best used for PATCHING wider widths of Stick and Tear when embroidering smaller designs. (White)"Widths may vary depending on stock availability"
Stick and Tear™ Pressure sensitive adhesive backed tear-away stabilizer is made with polyester fibers and it adheres to the back of the Free Frames™, allowing you to attach your fabric to it, rather than hooping your fabric within 2 hoop frames. Stick and Tear™ is required to hold the fabric in place on the hoop and prevents shifting of the fabric. In some cases no other stabilizer is required such as on caps, purses, and heavy weight fabrics. Stick and Tear™ yields better quality embroidery than non adhesive stabilizers.
To use Stick and Tear™, peel several inches of the adhesive protective covering (release liner) and stick it on the top edge of the Hoop Frame. While pressing the Stick and Tear™ to the frame, pull the remaining release liner toward the other end of the frame, until it is all removed.
Press the Stick and Tear™ from Corner-to-corner (diagonally) and then pull and press the opposite side. Then pull and press the Stick and Tear in the center and all around the edges, until it is smooth and taut. You are now ready to apply the fabric to embroider.
If you loved SIA You will Love Stick and Tear is necessary for using any of the Free Frames™. It adheres to the backside of the frames holding and stabilizing your fabric during embroidery. It holds your fabric more securely than your original factory hoops and therefore prevents the customary puckering and distortion.
If you embroider a small design and don’t want to waste an entire sheet of Stick and Tear™, you can simply cut a small piece and patch the hole, with a one inch overlap around the edges, saving you money.

Many sticky back stabilizers are imported and made with paper. Stick and Tear™ however, is made in USA of polyester fibers. It tears like paper and is washable and will not cause the friction that paper stabilizers do.
